One of the newest trending apps on the market is known as "Relax Melodies: Sleep Sounds". This app is a mobile app under the category of health and fitness, as it focuses on relaxation and mental health.

The general allure for the Relax Melodies app is that it can help those that find it difficult to fall asleep through relaxing sounds. The app offers a wide variety of sounds and features, with many options for you to select from. A simple download will open up many opportunities for free to get a better night's sleep. The app features sleep sounds and white noise, which includes a variety within that category to choose from. Some of the sounds for sleep are

This app is for those who call themselves "doers." If you are one of those people, you can save time and money by using it due to its convenience. It is almost as if The Home Depot stores and associates came to you, with all of the features that exist.

In addition to this, the Relax Melodies app features guided meditation and sleep meditation which can help users get a better quality sleep. Some of the themes featured under the guided meditation category relate to or involve thinking about sleep. Another feature on the app is bedtime stories, with a wild range of non-fiction, mystery, fairy tales, fantasy, and sci-fi stories read out loud to fall asleep to. This can be helpful for not only children but adults who have fond memories of being read to before bed, and can help relax you before a slumber. One of the last features highlighted on the app are the breathing techniques to help clear your head and relax your body. Sometimes stress can take a toll both physically and emotionally, and the breathing techniques can help manage some of that stress. The breathing techniques include taking a break, de-stress, falling asleep, and just simply clearing your mind.

In addition to the wide range of categories and topics to help prepare for sleep, the app has many added features they took time to install that they thought may help app users. Some of these include a built-in timer that you can set to automatically turn off the app so it's not running throughout the entire night, as well as a bedtime clock reminder that reminds you when it's time to start getting ready for bed. This app is one that can be helpful to a wide range of users for various reasons. The most obvious benefit of using the app is relaxation. Often after a stressful day of work it may be a bit tough to relax and calm down for the night. It seems as though the craziness and frantic nature of the day can sometimes seep into the night, which is not the ideal state of relaxation. This app can be a great way to integrate the use of meditation and breathing to bring a bit more relaxation into your night, and it's super accessible as it is right on your phone. Another great use for the breathing techniques could be during a particularly stressful shift at work where some tasks may feel unmanageable. Using the breathing techniques feature to take a break could help improve workflow and the productivity for the day. As for the relaxing sounds, it could be a nice way to get children to fall asleep on their own, or even to help bring an aspect of home to a temporary bedroom when you're away from home. Certain sounds may not be achievable in a hotel room or a family's guest bedroom, but with fan sounds or the sound of the ocean's waves crashing, it could help bring some normalcy to an unfamiliar sleeping location. This again is extremely accessible as it is already there downloaded on your phone. It's as simple as pulling up the app and pressing play. (And possibly finding some headphones to not drive your partner crazy)

Overall, though, this app is a step in the right direction for relaxation at night, and I'm fairly satisfied. One aspect I would be interested in seeing the app add would be some form of ASMR or virtual Reiki to relax and de-stress in a new way. This app is great for those looking for a bit more relaxation in their daily life!
